How did you hear about FITposium? Photographer Audra Oden messaged me and suggested I look into going. That was in 2016. As I began following along on Instagram and joined the Facebook group, I became more and more excited as each speaker was revealed and each opportunity for potential modeling work was detailed! 2016’s conference was incredible!
What does FITposium mean to you? FITposium is more than just a singular conference. Where it is that, it is so much more. It’s a community of like-minded people, who support one another and share ideas about entrepreneurship, modeling, and how to be better involved with social media. Ultimately, it’s all about growing YOUR brand.
What is your favorite thing about the FITposium community? My favorite thing about the FITposium community is how supportive and positive everyone is. It is a place where we can share ideas and ask questions and expect honest and helpful feedback. Sure, there’s a time and place for tough love, but it’s always handled with helping the other person in mind. I love how we can all share in one another’s victories and ask for support/ encouragement if we fail.
How has FITposium helped you/your brand/business? It has helped me become aware of my purpose and how I can stand out in a sea of people and products that may seem very similar. It has put me in the same room as other business owners, which allows for a few things, including finding others who have similar goals, talking with people that are further along in their journey, who can offer knowledge from experience, and this could potentially lead to working with others for business collaborations, as well. From a model’s perspective, getting to sit down with the magazine editors was huge! Getting to shake hands and make face-to-face intersections with them, and getting to pick their brains and see what they look for, has allowed me to make better plans for getting published in the future.
What is your favorite memory/moment from FITposium? I’ve got a few favorite moments from this last year’s conference! 1) Having Faith Hibbs Clarke of Good Faith Casting call me out as the “sexy, European man bun guy” during the first session. She was a lot of fun! 2) Callie Bundy talking with me about the importance of the use of video in social media, and saying that I had a unique, marketable voice. 3) The casting call photo shoot with Audra and the portfolio review with the various magazine editors. 4) My most favorite has two parts: when Chris and Heidi Powell were introduced to the stage, but then, after their time on stage, when I got to meet them! That really was THE highlight for me! They are amazing people!
What is your goal for you/your brand/business for 2018? My goal is to stop procrastinating and finally put in some real work towards my social brand, Good Job Cobb and Team Good Job. Create new individual workout plans and boot camps. I will map out the direction, and create a business plan, for my clothing brand that I will keep nameless for the time being.
