Back in 2016, a fitness model friend told me about James’ event. She said if I was going to be a serious fitness professional, I NEEDED to go to this conference to network and shoot with James.

For two years, I made excuses for why I couldn’t attend. It’s all the way in AZ and I live in MN. I’m a single, working mom and I don’t have the money to spend on a flight/hotel/conference ticket. I have a small child and I have never left him overnight before. It would be selfish to invest in myself. The list went on and on. So in the meantime, I subscribed to James’ blog and followed him and FITposium on social media.

Then in August of 2018, I emailed James about a blog post he wrote that really resonated with me. To my surprise, he RESPONDED! He asked me if I was coming to FITposium, which was about six weeks away. I gave him one of my limiting belief excuses, but he saw through it. He asked if I could talk and said he wanted to hop on a quick phone call. And when James FREAKING Patrick asks if he can call you, YOU SAY YES!

I told him my story. He asked me about my goals. We told me a funny story about his dog and we laughed and joked back and forth. He was totally DOWN TO EARTH. He was ridiculously PASSIONATE about his work. And I liked him. And even more importantly… I could tell that he CARED. By the end of our phone conversation, I had purchased my conference ticket to FITposium 2018 and I was on CLOUD NINE! My dream of attending this event was FINALLY coming true!

What does FITposium mean to you?

FITposium CHANGED MY LIFE. When I first attended the conference in October of 2018, I was working for another company. Honestly… the idea of starting my own business had NEVER even entered my mind. But after a full weekend of listening to one inspiring presentation after another by all of these incredible entrepreneurs, it lit a fire in me. I COULD NOT STOP thinking about building my OWN brand. I flew back to Minnesota and began tirelessly putting together all of my ideas. I was absolutely TERRIFIED… but the thought of staying stuck where I was became more uncomfortable than taking a leap of faith and risking everything. Eight short weeks after attending FITposium, I QUIT MY JOB. Launched my own business. And never looked back.

What is your favorite thing about the FITposium community?

The supportive community of like-minded people at this event is second to none. Although we are spread out all over the world, I keep in touch with so many of the incredible people I met at the conference last year. We schedule FaceTime coffee dates, support one another on social media, cheer for each other’s victories, bounce ideas off each other and help each other build and grow our businesses. I have made many lifelong friendships here.

How has FITposium helped you/your brand/business?

FITposium has changed my life in every way. It gave me the COURAGE, CONFIDENCE, SUPPORT and PROFESSIONAL SKILLS to start my own business. I even hired James Patrick as my business coach for 2019 and he has been a PRICELESS resource and wealth of knowledge in regards to marketing, branding, sales and business development strategy. James motivates me, challenges me, celebrates my wins with me and holds me accountable to take action on my goals. Attending FITposium and working with James is one of the BEST investments I have ever made.

What is your favorite memory/moment from FITposium?

Hearing my name be announced for a Fitness Magazine feature was AWESOME. After meeting the editor, Tanja Schmitz, at the FITposium casting calls, my weight loss story was featured in the November 2018 issue.

Lost 100 LBS in 1 Year + Personal Trainer + Nutrition Coach + Mental Strength Coach

In 2012, Brianna became a mom to a sweet little boy named Tye. After gaining 70 pounds during her pregnancy, her weight escalated to 245 LBS. By the time Tye’s 1st birthday rolled around, the scale hadn’t budged. She had accepted that this was the size she was going to be for the rest of her life… until she picked up a copy of People Magazine’s, “How They Lost 100 LBS” issue in a checkout line.

She read the story of a woman who lost 130 pounds after hiring a personal trainer at a gym in Minneapolis – about 40 minutes from Brianna’s house. She thought, if this gym and this man could have such a profound impact on this woman’s life and health, then maybe he could help her, too. So she made the call.

She started training 2-3 days per week and completely up-hauled her diet. One month later, she was down 12 pounds. Three months after that, she was down 30 pounds. Six months later she had lost 50 pounds. And just before her one year anniversary at the gym, Brianna had lost 107 LBS.

It changed her life in every way. It changed her relationship with food and exercise.  It changed the way she felt about herself.  It changed the way she parented her son.  It gave her the courage and confidence to leave a marriage that was no longer serving her and become a single, working mom. It introduced her to competitive powerlifting and the physical strength she found in that sport spilled over into every other area of her life. And it inspired her to become a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach and help others define their strong.

And exactly five years after she picked up the copy of People Magazine that changed her life, HER weight loss story was featured in the very same issue. It’s been quite a ride, to say the least… and she is just getting started!
