1: How did you hear about FITposium?
I had just moved to Phoenix about a month before the first Fitposium in 2015. One of my friends tagged me in a post on Instagram that was about Fitposium. I thought, why not? I had an idea for a clothing line in my head for almost 10 years by then, so I thought maybe this is my sign!
2: What does FITposium mean to you?
It’s a community of people dedicated to changing the world in their own unique way. It’s about building relationships, learning from others who have done the things you’re trying to do, and making new friends!
3: What is your favorite thing about the FITposium community?
The caliber of people who attend. This event attracts some real go-getters. It’s great to see all the amazing things other people are doing. I LOVE that we all help each other out too!
4: How has FITposium helped you/your brand/business?
Fitposium helped me take some action towards an idea that was mulling around in my mind like a mental post-it note for about 10 years. After the first event, it was slow progress, but it was more progress than I had made with the idea just sitting in my head.
In the fall of 2017, I went through the first Launch program with James and Kelly. I needed a little accountability and a group to bounce ideas off. My online shop, Fit Geek Boutique went live in Dec, 2017! I work in and advocate for STEM education and Fit Geek Boutique offers STEM-themed athletic wear. It’s fitness fashion for your geeky passion! While the geeky-leggings are fun, the larger vision is to share a message that health & wellness is the foundation to success in anything we choose to do, including us geeks!
5: What is your favorite memory/moment from FITposium?
There are so many, it’s hard to choose just one. I am very much a left-brained person, so design and artwork has me really stepping out of my comfort zone. Listening to Elisabetta Rogiani talk about how to style an outfit for the cover of a magazine was so helpful for me. She has so much experience in fitness fashion and I learned so much from her.
6: What are you most excited about for the 2018 conference?
I am most excited about meeting new people and forming new relationships with motivated and driven people. If you see me, please come say hi and introduce yourself! I’d love to hear about the things you’re working on.
